I don’t know about you gleeks, but I thought that last week’s episode, “Pot O’ Gold”, was a bit underwhelming. There were a few great songs and some good moments, but it wasn’t quite what I was hoping for after that mini-hiatus. But, from what I’ve heard, we won’t be nearly as disappointed by this week’s episode, “The First Time”
(Cory Monteith stops by to chat with The First Wire on the red carpet of the LA premiere of Glee 3D: The Movie.) Just a little after interviewing Lea Michele from Glee, TFW team from LA was able to catch up with Cory Monteith who plays Finn on the hit-Fox show. Some of the questions posed to Cory were user-submitted and will have the name and location of the person who sent them tagged along. Thank you so much to Cory for taking time out of his busy schedule in the junket to talk to us.
At the Spirit Awards Saturday, stars flocked to the Elle Green Room backstage and, lucky for us, that’s right where we got to chat up the amazing Jane Lynch . As you Gleeks know, there’s going to be original music featured on Glee and Jane says one of her cast members steals the show.
Hmmmmmm *** “Glee” became an instant sensation when it first aired in September 2009.
I have been trying to find out everything I can possibly find out on this kid since I saw him in Tuesday night’s episode.
I can’t even convey to you how excited I am for Jane to host SNL. This is going to be AMAZING! CLICK HERE
Glee aired it’s season finale in the UK this past Monday night ( to over 1.5 million viewers! ), and not-so coincidently, a lot of the Glee cast was in London promoting the show, including Matthew Morrison (who’s recording some of his solo CD in London). As a result, we have a radio interview of Matt in London, and plenty of other Glee news
Rachel checking out the infamous Glist, which starts the gleeks on their bad rep quests In an age of Paris Hilton’s sex tapes, Lindsay Lohan’s drug addictions, and Britney Spears’ inability to exit a car without showing off her goods, it’s no wonder that the glee clubbers often struggle with being nobodies. As Quinn puts it rather bluntly this week, “A bad reputation is better than no reputation at all.” And while not all of the characters will agree with Quinn’s assessment (namely Will, who finally suffers the consequences of his naughty actions, and Sue, who can’t handle the humiliation of being mocked), Glee dealt with the idea of reputations, both good and bad, while in top-notch form with this episode. As with all recent episodes of Glee , “Bad Reputation” had a very clear theme expressed through both plot and music, but thankfully the words “bad reputation” weren’t uttered as many times as “home” was in the episode prior.
It’s round four of 10 Artists Worthy of a Glee Tribute Episode and we’re going to turn to one musical arena that Glee owes a lot too: Broadway! And, specifically, the Broadway great, Stephen Sondheim. Why Stephen Sondheim? I know that Stephen Sondheim isn’t really an artist, he’s a songwriter
Yes, indeed, it’s Music Monday time again, gleeks! This week I’ve picked a tune for Mercedes to showcase her skills: “Anyone Who Had a Heart” by Dionne Warwick. Check out the video below (apologies for the subtitles!) and then read on for why this is my fantasy performance choice for this week: Songs from Dionne Warwick’s vast catalogue have already appeared on Glee a few times (“I Say a Little Prayer” and “Don’t Make Me Over”), and for good reason. The woman has an amazing voice and many of her songs would fit perfectly into the storylines of Glee , including this hit from 1963.
