Another great one from PopWrap! *** Going from nameless face in the crowd to bold-faced name in lights is not only a central theme on “Glee” but also at the heart of Oxygen’s new show “The Glee Project” — a reality competition show with the ultimate prize: a multi-episode arc on Fox’s hit musical comedy. But the road to McKinley High won’t be easy for the 12 boys and girls plucked from an open casting call according to Robert Ulrich, who not only functions as a mentor on the show, but also is the “Glee” casting director
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – When “Glee” co-creator Ryan Murphy set out to cast a new role for the show’s third season via the upcoming Oxygen reality spinoff, “The Glee Project,” the plan was to employ only one. But chances are good that more than just the winner of the competition series will go on to careers in showbiz, perhaps even appearing on the Fox hit.

The first news of this episode are that Puck is in juvie – as I find, the best “excuse” to give Mark Salling time to promote his new album “Pipe Dreams” – but no glee club member cared! They asked for the reason but weren’t really compassionate when they found out… I’m sure there are some Puckerman fans among you but you must admit, you weren’t even missing him in this episode (were you?) because the Glee producers made it exciting enough even without him. The source for this excitement is the admission of a new character into the glee club: Sam Evans. Known from the episode “Auditions” as a new football player and student at WMHS, he now gets a shot at hitting on Quinn and the notes
In this beautifully crafted episode that still had nothing to do with the Glee Club’s journey to Sectionals and eventually Regionals (or does it? More coming on this thought) we finally see clearly what Ryan Murphy has been doing this whole season: teaching us about acceptance. Kurt is the obvious one in need of acceptance in this episode and everyone else plays supporting roles but we see that Finn needs acceptance, Sam needs acceptance, Karofsky needs acceptance, Santana needs acceptance, and even Sue Sylvester needs acceptance
