The New Yorker Festival is back in New York City for the weekend of September 30th – October 2nd, and as part of the Festival’s exciting line-up, Chris Colfer will talk with The New Yorker ’s Susan Morrison. The event takes place on Saturday, October 1st at 7PM at the SVA Theatre 2, 333 West 23rd Street.

Glee has tipped its hat to Broadway, Lady Gaga and classic rock including its recent Fleetwood Mac-inspired episode, so why would the Fox dramedy, whose goal is to stress the importance of music education and appreciation, cover Rebecca Black ’s much maligned “Friday”? “There’s a rule for it that’s explained in the show,” Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter. “The [glee club] is hired to perform songs for the prom and they were told by the principal to please do popular songs that the kids know.” Black’s heavily autotuned song became an Internet sensation for all the wrong reasons and landed its 13-year-old singer death threats .
Friday’s not until tomorrow, but I can’t wait until then to share the latest Glee song news. Vulture is reporting that the show’s prom episode, which will air later this season, will feature a rendition of Rebecca Black’s infamous “Friday”. Artie, Puck and Sam will be the unlikely trio covering the song, and I wonder if Kevin McHale, Mark Salling and Chord Overstreet will have fun, fun, fun, fun recording this one
